Yielded

Walking hand in hand with Jesus... what utter joy and bliss!

Time and time again, I have seen the benefits of yielding my will to His.
True, oftentimes, His way doesn't seem all too appealing. On many an occasion I have thought, "Lord, You don't really want me to do that do You? Please say no."
However, without fail, laying aside my natural desires have always resulted in my heart being changed. It's almost as if our natural desires block out that which we will find the most pleasure in and we have no idea what we are missing out on.
Our Heavenly Father knows us far better than we know ourselves.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

We often enjoy waving our free will around, dearly loving the rights of independence; as a child who wants to do everything by itself yet lacks the wisdom or complete knowledge required to accomplish the task successfully. How many times have we laughed at the humorous attempts of a child who cannot seem to figure out that their outfit is inside out or that two legs do not fit into one leg hole?
In the way children are to be completely dependent on their parents to show them the way to go, we are to be completely dependent on our Heavenly Father.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." (Proverbs 3:5, 6 NLT)

"So now, come back to your God.
Act with love and justice,
and always depend on him." (Hosea 12:6 NLT)

There is a sweet security in being dependent on Heavenly Father. We need not worry about making mistakes while being yielded to Him, because He never makes mistakes.
Perhaps we are not so easily yielded to God because we do not truly understand His love for us.
It is easy to trust when you know how much you are loved.

"For the king trusts in the LORD.
The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling." (Psalm 21:7 NLT)

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how much He loves you. Dig into the Word and see what it has to say about the Father's great love for you.
It's safe to trust Jesus today because He will forever have only your best interest at heart.
