His Gift to You

Here it is Christmas Eve...

Tears, I promised myself wouldn't fall, are slowly making their way down my face.

My heart is missing someone very dear to me and the silence is excruciating. Another Christmas has arrived but they are not.

So here I am penning this post to remind my heart of the reason for this Christmas season.

If your heart is heavy this Christmas, you are not alone.

There is One who understands your pain deeply and intimately.

"He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care."
Isaiah 53:3 (New Living Translation)

"He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him."
Isaiah 53:3 (New King James Version)

It’s ok for the tears to fall. He counts them all and one day you will see Him paint a masterpiece that rivals any work of art you have ever seen.

"You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book."
Psalm 56:8 (New Living Translation)

Jesus came to be your Wonderful Counselor and Prince of Peace. You can cry with Him. You can sit in silence with Him. You can pour out your heart to Him - every disappointment, broken piece, and frustration. He is listening.

"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6 (New King James Version)

You don’t have to put on a face for Him. He is big enough to carry your pain. Let Him carry you. Let Him lavish His love on you. You are His Beloved, the apple of His eye. He longs to hold you in His arms and sing His song of love over you. He wants to restore your soul.

Don't hide your face from Him.

Take a minute to be in His presence. Let His love wash over you.

"God makes everything come out right;
he puts victims back on their feet.
He showed Moses how he went about his work,
opened up his plans to all Israel.
God is sheer mercy and grace;
not easily angered, he’s rich in love.
He doesn’t endlessly nag and scold,
nor hold grudges forever.
He doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve,
nor pay us back in full for our wrongs.
As high as heaven is over the earth,
so strong is his love to those who fear him.
And as far as sunrise is from sunset,
he has separated us from our sins.
As parents feel for their children,
God feels for those who fear him.
He knows us inside and out,
keeps in mind that we’re made of mud.
Men and women don’t live very long;
like wildflowers they spring up and blossom,
But a storm snuffs them out just as quickly,
leaving nothing to show they were here.
God’s love, though, is ever and always,
eternally present to all who fear him,
Making everything right for them and their children
as they follow his Covenant ways
and remember to do whatever he said."
Psalm 103:11-18 (The Message)

He is the hope for your future. The story does not end here.

His gift to you is His peace even in the chaos and pain. A Savior born in a manger - the lowliest of circumstances - is with you today.

You are dearly loved and infinitely cherished by the King of kings.

Wishing you a sweet Christmas full of His comfort and peace,

Rose-Élise Melodie
